Steve Miller has been fortunate to coach soccer in the area for more than 20 years. His experience includes coaching at the club, Super “Y”, premier, high school, and college levels. During his 8-year tenure at Holy Name/Berks Catholic High School, Steve guided the boys to three PIAA State Playoffs (semi-finals, quarter-finals, 1st round), and five PIAA District 3 playoffs including their championship in 2010. Steve also coached the Holy Name girls for six seasons leading the Blue Jays to three District 3 playoff appearances. Steve was the head boys varsity coach at Governor Mifflin High School in Shillington for two years, leading the boys to their first winning season in 5 years. Prior to Governor Mifflin, Steve was the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Penn State University, Berks Campus. He holds the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) National License and United States Soccer Federation (USSF) certifications.

Steve utilizes his passion for soccer and working with children by owning and operating Mighty Kicks in Berks, Chester, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, and Montgomery counties. His goal is to help children develop (physically, socially, and mentally) within the framework of soccer utilizing the proven Mighty Kick’s curriculum. Steve lives in Sinking Spring, PA with his wife Lisa, and daughter Melissa (Millersville 19′). They also have a son Adam (Former D1 Keeper at VA Tech and Canisius College) who lives in the Los Angeles, CA area, and a daughter Emily who works for Triose Corporation in Wyomissing, PA.

Lexi Nowotarski is a 2017 graduate from Fleetwood High School. While in high school she played soccer, basketball, track and field, and softball. Currently, she is attending West Chester University (2021) majoring in accounting. Lexi loves working with children and has a passion for soccer. As a Mighty Kicks coach, she gets to help children build their self-confidence, coordination, and basic soccer skills through fun games and activities. She really enjoys the Mighty Kicks curriculum and has a lot of fun with the kids.
Chandler Nedimyer, a product of Garden Spot High School, is a sophomore early education major at Kutztown University. In the summer, he is a full-time teacher at Kindercare where he primarily works with the school-age children. Chandler loves soccer and played throughout his youth and in high school. Chandler appreciates the Mighty Kicks curriculum which merges soccer fun with life skills and social skills development. He looks forward to bringing Mighty Kicks and the great game of soccer to local preschools and child care centers.
Melissa Miller is a sophomore Early Childhood Education major at Millersville University. When she isn’t coaching soccer for Mighty Kicks, Melissa is a teacher at Kindercare Sinking Spring. Melissa played youth soccer and loved to watch her big brother play in high school and college. She is an avid Man U fan. Melissa was a competitive cheerleader and also cheered for Berks Catholic High School where she served as varsity team captain and was recognized with the Coach’s Award her senior year. She currently cheers for Millersville, works as a peer educator, and was named to Dean’s List as a freshman. Melissa enjoys bringing the fun of Mighty Kicks to children at local preschools.
Coach Shawn has been a coach with Mighty Kicks for more than three years. He currently also acts as our Director of Coaching, where he is responsible for training Mighty Kicks coaches and updating and adding to our curriculum. Soccer has always been an integral part of his life. He grew up playing for the Wilson Junior Soccer Club before spending 4 years on the Wilson High School soccer team. During his 2 years at Penn State Berks, Shawn assisted with both the boys and the girls’ programs at Holy Name High School. After attending Penn State University, Shawn interned at Disney World in Orlando, Florida working in several capacities within the park. During his free time, Shawn enjoys snowboarding and fishing. He also spends a lot of time with his family, especially his four little cousins, whom he likes to play soccer with. He volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and the SPCA regularly. Shawn is also a fan of professional soccer around the world and given the chance, he will talk your ear off about any league or player! He is for some reason, an Arsenal fan… I don’t get it.
Kelsey Nestro is a recent Penn State University graduate with a degree in Biobehavioral Health and a minor in Global Health. In the fall, Kelsey will be continuing her education at Tufts University to earn a master’s degree in occupational therapy. Kelsey began playing soccer in the Wilson Junior Soccer Club at the age of 5, and ended her soccer career playing on the Wilson High School girls soccer team. During her high school years she also played club soccer for Berks Ajax FC. Kelsey has a lot of experience with children from her years of babysitting and summers of being a camp counselor. Kelsey looks forward to bringing together her passion of working with children and her love of soccer as a Mighty Kicks coach.
Tori Albert is a graduate of Millersville University with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She completed her student teaching and a long-term substitute position at Eshleman Elementary School in the Penn Manor School District. She loved spending her year [teaching] in fifth grade! Tori began playing soccer for the Exeter Youth program and continued to play through high school at Berks Catholic. She loves working with kids and is very excited to be coaching for Mighty Kicks!
Allysa Hirneisen is freshman Early Education Major at Alvernia University and also competes on their women’s soccer team. Coach Alyssa loves helping children learn new skills. She enjoys using the Mighty Kicks curriculum to teach kids basic soccer techniques,while helping them build self confidence. She is a 2018 Cocalico High School graduate where she excelled on the pitch and in the classroom. She also competed for local BSA Rage Soccer Club and has worked with children in different capacities for several years.

Hi Steve,
Just wanted to share with you that I had a parent return yesterday for drop-in-care. Her daughter graduated in the spring and is now in Kindergarten. Her mom enrolled her in soccer at [name removed] because she was always talking about soccer at Goddard [Mighty Kicks Program]. After one class, she told her mom that this was not “fun soccer” she wants to do the soccer like at Goddard! Thanks for a great program!!!
