Stuart is excited to be bringing the proven Mighty Kicks Program to Southwest Virginia. Playing soccer since the age of five, Stuart fell in love with the game and shares that love with his wife Tara and the rest of his family.
Stuart’s club career began with the Franklin County Griffins, and after two years, he moved to the Roanoke Star, playing at the elite level. He also played at Franklin County High School. His coaching career began at the age of nineteen and he has been coaching professionally for seventeen years. In addition to serving as the assistant men’s coach at Ferrum College, Stuart has coached at various clubs including The Franklin County Flames Soccer Club and Loudoun Soccer. As the director of coaching for Northern Soccer in Santa Fe, New Mexico, he coached several championship teams and gained valuable experience.
Not only does Stuart love the game of soccer, he receives great joy from teaching and working with children. His coaching philosophy is not simply to teach the game, but to prepare today’s youth (through the game of soccer) to reach their full potential as people. Stuart strives to teach and encourage children to experience the joy of learning new skills and developing self-confidence, while appreciating the structural demands of working within a team. Stuart looks forward to seeing everyone for Mighty Kicks opening season in Southwestern Virginia. Feel free to contact Stuart with any questions by email or phone.
