The Mighty Kicks Blog
Guess what? Work can be fun!
Dr. Bruce Duncan Perry, M.D, Ph. D states that “We learn best when we are having fun. Play, more than any other activity, fuels healthy development of children — and the continued healthy development of adults.”
Developing Kids Thru Soccer Fun is at the heart of what Mighty Kicks is all about! Children learn most effectively when they are engaged, and children are more likely to be engaged when they are having fun. We strive to develop the whole of the child through fun, engaging, developmentally appropriate soccer activities and games. I enjoy being able to watch the children I work with be able to learn, not only basic soccer skills while having fun, but also valuable life skills and character traits that they will carry with them forever.
Watching children actively engaged, having fun playing soccer is excellent therapy for the soul! Their enthusiasm and passion for life is a breath of fresh air from the worries and responsibilities of adulthood. Did you catch the last part of Dr. Perry’s statement? Not only does play/fun fuel healthy development for children, but also the CONTINUED healthy development of adults.
- Do you have fun at work?
- Are you passionate about your work?
- Are you motivated to put in the effort it takes to be successful?
After 10 years of teaching, I was hanging on by a thread. No motivation, no passion, working from paycheck to paycheck-seeking the elusive 30 years and retirement. I needed a change and I found Mighty Kicks! Mighty Kicks has afforded me the opportunity to own my own business where I can continue to “play” and have fun every day as an adult. I have reestablished passion and purpose through owning my own Mighty Kicks Franchise. I am motivated every day to make a positive impact in the lives of the children that I have the awesome opportunity to work with.
Not only am I having fun, but I am making a positive impact on the next generation in my community! Steve Jobs said, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.” I “settled” for many years until I finally took a leap of faith and started my own Mighty Kicks Franchise.
